Now you have copies of your transcripts as well as your military transcripts. It’s time to pick a degree.
I can’t offer much help here. You have to decide what you want to do. Do you want a desk job? A degree in law enforcement? Teacher? Do you like computers, etc? .
Picking a School
This is one of the most important steps that you’re going to take. There are a lot of things to consider when attending a school. There are different types of schools, and accreditation. You have to consider your learning style. Are you a self paced learner, or do you learn better with structure. Some schools have military scholarships, some don’t, there are so many different options, and your perfect school is out there. Military Friendly Schools
To request Air Force tuition assistance you have to go through the Air Force portal. If you don’t already have a username and password, register for one here. https://www.my.af.mil/
Log In using your AF Portal Account Info
Click on the “Virtual Education Center” Link
Click on the “Apply for TA” link on the right hand side
Select the appropriate enrollment reason.
You can select “Civilian Education” even though these credits can be applied to your CCAF degree.
On the next screen select the school Enter the course start and end dates. Move to the next screen.
Click on the “Add Course” link. Select the course or enter the course and make necessary changes then select “Add Course”.
Repeat this step to add additional classes as noted on your “TA request Form”.
Enter appropriate fees if applicable. (Contact your school if you are unsure about fees)
Verify your user information and the course data. If correct, click next. If corrections need to be made go to previous screens to make corrections.
Read and check the boxes agreeing to the conditions, enter you ID information at the bottom.
Next Screen.
If everything was correct you will see a page that provides you with your TA number.
You will then be sent an email letting you know the status. Once you receive the email stating your TA has been approved please log back into the AF Portal and go to the
Virtual Education Center.
Click on the “My Enrollments” link on the right.
Digitally Sign the form if it is requested. Click on the small “Printer” icon on this page.
This will open a PDF which is your TA Approval Form.
Contact Your School
Congratulations you’ve successfully requested tuition assistance for your course(s). Contact your school and let them know that you’ve completed the Tuition Assistance Request
