Transcripts (Marine Reserve)

Now that you know what your benefits are the next step is gathering all your transcripts from any school that you’ve attended. Check their website to see how to obtain copies (most schools need official transcripts) What is an official transcriptAn official transcript bears the Institutional Seal, as well as appropriate signatures. Most of the time a transcript is only considered "official" if it is sent by an institution to an institution.

It’s always a good idea to have copies for you.

	Choosing a Degree
Now you have copies of your transcripts as well as your military transcripts. It’s time to pick a degree. I can’t offer much help here. You have to decide what you want to do. How To Apply

There are different types of VA Educational benefits, in order to confirm your eligibility of VA Educational

Benefits, you would have to apply.

Log onto the VA website: www.gibill.va.gov to apply. Follow these instructions:


Click “Apply online, then Education”	Click “Start VONAPP”

Follow the prompts to the log-in screen for VONAPP and create a username and password

If you have not applied or used VA Educational Benefits before

Complete the online application “VA Form 22-1995” what is thisForm used by students who have applied for or used VA benefits at a school before

*Print a copy of the application for your records*

In 2-4 weeks you will receive your Certificate of Eligibility what is thisAn official notice from the VA detailing the benefits you qualify for From the VA by mail.

The school that you’ve chosen will most likely need a copy of your COE.
